This album is a journey of discovery. An on going effort to honor the life, legacy and music of David Darling. This collection is from an archive of sorts, pieces that for thematic reasons did not fit on previous releases or were left in the idea stages and finished here with the help of his friends. Some of them are quiet and introspective while other exude the playfulness that was such a part of David’s way in the world. With in each of them is the reverence that David held for all of life and his true love of the watercourse way.

Joe Shepard created Immersive Studios and hosted many, many of our recording sessions with David. There are other piece on this album that grew an ideas that David had created in a less than ideal recording situation and Joe was able to patiently restore the audio by removing extraneous noises and shaping the tones.

David Channing was instrumental in helping me discover the music in these sketches and arranging the elements into the music intended. His willingness and ability to shape and form the music from these musings David Darling’s is unsurpassed.

Paul Fowler contributions to this album go way beyond the vocals and piano recordings he added to several tracks. He was a steading force as we explored the mysteries.

Connor Abbot Brown helped created arrangements and helped conceptualize the journey when I was searching.

Katie Mintle so kindly added her voice to the piece “Reverence” and helped me explore other possibilities.

Ross and David Cullen were so very generous with their added guitar tracks.

My wife, Judy and our son, Dae have been a constant source of support for me and the work with David.

David’s daughters Jessica and Bonnie Darling who I met as children have been divine as they navigate the unfinished aspects of David’s life.

Ginny Jordan, who was at our son’s birth, continues to be so very present in this work with David. She and David worked together creating music for her book “Clear Cut” and her listening through the creation of this album provided some much needed guidance.

Phil McMahon has been an ally in so many adventures that we move now in the world as brothers.

Al Evers of A-Train Entertainment has been a constant source of support for all things David related and has been invaluable in his ability to steer David’s music into the world.

This reminds me of my favorite David Darling solo cello albums with its meditative qualities and rich tones and textures of the strings, as well as its overall emotional sensibilities that bring an inspiring clarity.
